The challenge was to design an eclectic house in a
shingled cottage style even though we were restricted to
a rigid rectangular footprint.

|
The fact that any deck space would have to be
taken from the available footprint required some
creative landscaping to create outdoor living
space.

The house was raised up out of the flood
plain and then surrounded with a stone wall
to reduce the visible height of the
foundation

Rear of the house has an expansive view of the marsh.

|
The corner window in the kitchen takes
advantage of a view between other houses to
the ocean.

|
The high ceilings and large windows in the
master bedroom give a small room a big feel.

|
|
|
A small round window in the stairwell makes all the difference.

|
Large, open living dining and kitchen areas are the key to a successful small house.
